This customer-focused approach has helped Waterfield Tech earn the trust of several clients, which has generated attractive revenues and led to honors such as inclusion in the 2024 Inc. 5000 list.
The Inc. 5000 list ranks the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. In its 43rd edition, the list has honored several companies, including Meta, Oracle, Microsoft, Timberland, Under Armour, and Grubhub. The list has developed a reputation as America’s entrepreneurial benchmark, providing insights into the country’s best-performing private companies.
Inc. follows a rigorous, eight-month process to compile the list. It starts with a call for applications. Companies apply directly to Inc., paying an application fee. Each application must include company details, such as its name, year of establishment, name of the CEO, and annual revenue.
However, not all private companies can apply for consideration. Eligible companies include US-based, privately held, and operating for-profit organizations. Applicants must operate independently, not as a subsidiary, and generate significant revenue. For the 2024 list, Inc. required eligible companies to have a founded date before March 31, 2020, and have attained at least $100,000 in revenue in 2020 and at least $2 million in revenue in 2023.
Once Inc. receives applications, its staff reviews them, verifying revenue figures. The validity of these figures is crucial as Inc. uses them to calculate each company’s three-year revenue growth rate. This rate is the basis for its rankings. Inc. verifies company revenues by analyzing their financial statements and, in some cases, tax returns. Where companies claim exceptionally high revenue growth rates, Inc. requires them to provide audited financial statements.
After vetting, Inc.’s staff compile a draft list and present it to the editorial team. The editors conduct additional vetting, interview some founders, and do background checks on the companies. The editors disqualify companies whose leaders have charges such as criminal offenses like fraud or sexual misconduct. The companies that pass this final vetting process make it to the coveted Inc. 5000 list.
The 2024 Inc. 5000 list included companies with revenue ranging from $2 million to $15.5 billion. Together, they generated $317 billion in revenue and over 874,000 jobs. The top 500 companies had an impressive median three-year growth rate of 1,637 percent despite consumption drops and supply chain disruptions caused by the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent inflation and interest rate increases.
Waterfield Tech ranked number 1,943 on the 2024 Inc. 5000 list. Its inclusion was a testament to the market traction its customer experience offerings had achieved and its dedication to superior customer service through digital, AI-powered innovations.
After the list came out, Waterfield Tech’s Chief Customer Officer Evan Jones termed it an honor to receive recognition among the fastest-growing companies in the country. He further affirmed that the milestone reflected Waterfield Tech’s commitment to innovation and its mission of helping brands enhance their customer experience in today’s digital marketplace. Waterfield™ is building a better America.
